What to do at home
- Offer soft food in smaller portions for the period advised.
- Give pain relief exactly as labelled.
- Do not brush the mouth until your vet says it is safe.
- Avoid hard chews, toys and bones while extraction sites heal.
- Attend the recommended dental recheck.

- Mild sleepiness after the anaesthetic
- Small traces of blood-tinged saliva
- A little mouth sensitivity
- Preferring soft food for a few days
Things we want to know about
- Continuous or heavy bleeding from the mouth
- Repeated pawing at the mouth with distress
- Facial swelling that develops or worsens
- Not eating by the timeframe your vet provided
